On April 20, 2018, the National Institute for Economic Research organized the workshop dedicated to launching of the international project Let’s Rock the Central, Eastern and Western Europe with Transnational Local Action, funded by the Visegrad Fund and implemented by the National Institute for Economic Research in partnership with Inspiro Consulting.
The event was opened by Mr. Alexandru Stratan, NIER Director, who mentioned the importance of the respective project for the development of the LAGs in the Republic of Moldova, highlighting the National Institute of Economic Research as a coordinator and reliable partner in the implemented projects, given the fact that the international project Let’s Rock the Central, Eastern and Western Europewith Transnational Local Action Groups” is already the 3rd project for NIER, funded by the Visegrad Fund.
Project coordinator, Dumitru Stratan, emphasized the importance of social capital that is a MUST for rural communities of the country and which can be achieve by sustainable local action groups.
The purpose of the workshop was to bring together representatives of central, local authorities, business sector and civil society in order to discuss the experience of the Republic of Moldova in the creation of LAGs, highlighting the main issues and challenges at the community level regarding the collaboration between various local actors, as well as to highlight the experience of the Visegrad countries regarding the creation and activity of the LAGs.
The event was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, local public authorities (Deputy Mayor of Călăraşi and Mayor of Nişcani village, Calarasi district), international (Ms. Jela Tvrdonova, University of Nitra, Slovakia and Mr. Jakub Piecuch, University of Krakow, Poland) and national (Mr. Lilian Danilov) experts, as well as scientific researchers from NIER, all of them being interested in the project activities, mentioning on its importance and usefulness.
